鉴于新型冠状病毒肺炎的最新态势，ＷＨＯ已经宣布全球卫生紧急状态，以及过年后自国内返回人员等因素，希望中文学校执委会经过紧急磋商决定：本周末即2月1日和2月2日，希望中文学校八个校区停课；如无特殊变化，2月8日和2月9日，希望中文学校八个校区将照常上课。

理事会已与费郡和蒙郡卫生局取得联系，并积极协助和配合卫生局即将出台的官方指导意见。希望中文学校将密切关注疫情的发展，如有必要，也将及时根据变化作出相应调整。

需要指出的是，维州和马州的公立学校并未因疫情而关门。如学生本人近期访问过疫区或近距离接触过来自疫区的访客，或者有发热症状，应该向所在学校如实报告。请保护好自己，也请尊重他人。

Dear teachers, parents, volunteers and students:

Due to the fact that the WHO recently declared a Global Health Emergency over the novel coronavirus outbreak and an increased number of people returning from China after the New Year, the Hope Chinese School Executive Committee decided to cancel all classes this weekend, February 1st and 2nd, 2020. Schools will re-open next weekend, February 8th and 9th, and resume classes as scheduled.

The HCS board is coordinating closely with the Fairfax and Montgomery County Health Departments. We will continue to monitor the situation and take additional actions as necessary.

Fairfax and Montgomery County Public schools remain open. Any students who recently visited China or have come in close contact with visitors from China and are exhibiting symptoms such as fever, cough, and difficulty breathing, should stay home and seek medical care right away per CDC instructions. Please protect yourself and respect others.
